Use folders as your top-level structure

Folders are how the library is divided. Group items the way your team searches for them — by role, by skill area, or by source. AI generation also requires a destination folder before it runs, so a clear folder structure keeps generated drafts separate from vetted items from day one.

Understand folder-scoped tags

Tags in SkillCort belong to a folder, not to the whole library. That means the same tag label in different folders is a different tag: "advanced" in your Support folder and "advanced" in your Sales folder are two separate tags, and filtering by one will not surface items tagged with the other.

Plan for this when you organize. If you want a label to behave consistently, apply it within one folder, or accept that cross-folder filtering by that label requires selecting the tag in each folder.

Import items into an assessment

You bring library items into an assessment through the import-from-library modal. It offers folder, tag, and item type filters plus search, so you can narrow a large library down to exactly the items you need before selecting anything.

Selection is built for volume: multi-select individual items, or use "Select all shown" to grab everything matching your current filters. Bulk add preserves the order of your selection and adds up to 100 items at once.

Spot items you have already added

Inside the import modal, items that are already in the assessment show an "In assessment" badge. Use it to avoid duplicates when you return to the library for a second pass, or to confirm at a glance which items from a folder made it into the current assessment.
