What each panel does
Each panel owns one slice of the assessment. Work through them roughly top to bottom the first time; afterward, jump straight to whichever panel the task needs.
- Overview & candidate instructions — the assessment's details, candidate instructions and consent statements, plus its folder, tags, and use case.
- Test settings — the assessment's purpose, total time limit, navigation rules, randomization, and candidate tools such as the on-screen calculator.
- Sections & items — the structure editor for sections, pages, and blocks.
- Delivery & security — configure scheduling, access and identity, and proctoring for the assessment's delivery, right inside the builder.
- Scoring & reporting — a read-only summary of auto, rubric, and manual score counts plus the section weights.
- Publish checklist — the computed readiness list that gates publishing.
The publish checklist and Fix actions
The checklist is not a static reminder — it is computed from the real assessment data, so it reflects what is actually missing or misconfigured. Required failures lock the Publish button until they are resolved. Each failing row has a Fix action that navigates you directly to the panel where the issue lives, so clearing the list is a matter of clicking Fix, resolving, and returning.
Preview as candidate
Before publishing, use Preview as candidate from the assessment header to experience the assessment exactly as a candidate will. It is the fastest way to catch instruction gaps, awkward page breaks, or a section that reads differently than you intended. Make previewing the last step before every publish.
Editing after publish
Both draft and live assessments are editable. Candidates who already submitted keep their exact results — their scores come from what they answered, so adding, editing, or reordering items on a live assessment never changes them. Once an assessment is closed or archived, its structure locks and results are final; duplicate it to a new draft to make changes.
